The Vintage Guitar, Aged to Perfection

Why is the older guitar the more highly desired guitar? A hand made, quality guitar will sound betterover time. The tone will become more balanced or warm as they say.
What does it mean to have a vintage guitar.
Many other considerations come into play when you thinking about a vintage guitar. Scarcity is a huge factor in determining the value of a vintage guitar. There are several models of Martin guitars that are not availablebecause they were made in short runs of an individual design.
The Les Paul Gold Top guitar had a particularly prized finish and golden color which also aged well. Like the Fender Stratocaster, certain times can produce more highly desired instruments due to the manufacturing process and quality control. Signature guitars are made for, or at least endorsed by a famous musician and the guitar bears their name. Although not making it a vintage guitar, the endorsement does raise the value. If a guitar was played by someone like Jimi Hendrix or BB King, that would make it more valued.The guitar may also be associated with a particular event, say Woodstock or some other huge event. A guitar can be prized if it is also highly playable and has a great sound, regardless of the age.
Some of the older guitar amplifiers are also considered to be collectable and vintage. Vox, Marshall and Fender amplifiers have particularly delicate sound reproduction capabilities. The older amps worked on tubes, not solid state and have a delicate sound quality.
Many vintage guitars today are valued as works of art and are treated as such. A vintage guitar is a piece of history of todays modern guitar.It is truly a treat and a pleasure to hold, play or own a classic guitar. The sound of rock and roll itself are contained in these instruments.
Some guitars need some loving restoration and play and sound like the original did many years ago.
