Music Buying Is Looking Up

By the looks of things it would seem that for the first time in over six years the industry is once again looking up. Is there any specific reason for this or are artists picking up their electric guitars and actually doing something decent?
Although in my opinion the only thing that has happened to artists is that they have gotten worse and worse as the years have gone by take Flo-rida or w/e you want to call him. These kind of artists are just trash and why people listen to the music is beyond me. One of the main reasons that the industry is starting to see more sales is because people are noticing that the government actually care about illegal music downloads now.
It is mainly because of this that we have seen the changes in music happen. People are noticing all of this and are taking the liberty to actually buy the songs rather than downloading them which means we have seen a massive increase on the sales of singles in 2009. The sales have risen massively by 50% to earn £154 million, a truly amazing figure. Great artists such as Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift have really helped towards this and it is great people are buying music again.
However if you have a great album overall but no catchy singles do not expect to be winning because it would seem that overall album sales are down and are expected to keep falling for the rest of 2010.
However looking at the positives again it would seem that in the very last week of 2009 over 4 million singles were sold, this is huge!.
Perhaps this will encourage people to pick up those acoustic guitars or plain ordinary guitars, then again, perhaps not.
So there you have it, like the songs or not it would seem the industry is back on the rise again!
